THIS week, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard took time out to speak to 88 year-old season-ticket holder Alex Wilson.
Like every other supporter, Alex has been missing his regular trips to Ibrox, with lockdown and the shielding instructions confining him to his home for the last few months.
Alex is something of a celebrity in the Broomloan Front at Ibrox, where he is well-known to all those who sit around him.
They will be missing him, just as he is missing them, but in order to spread some cheer this week, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard took some time out of his busy pre-season schedule to speak to Alex and wife Sheila over Zoom.
The manager was thrilled to chat to the couple, who quizzed the manager on pre-season so far, before they discussed Alex’s favourite Rangers team from the late 1940s and 1950s.
Boss Gerrard then invited Alex to come and meet him, his staff and his players on an Ibrox matchday once the advice allows, with Alex delighted to take the manager up on his offer.
