THE Rangers first-team made their long-awaited return to training this week, almost 14 weeks on from their last match.

In-line with the protocol set out by the Scottish FA and Scottish Government, and under the guidance of the club’s class-leading Dr Mark Waller, all players have been tested for Covid-19, and in this first period of training, they will work individually. The meticulous planning of the backroom staff has ensured players’ safety, health and wellbeing is prioritised.

It’s a truly unique set of circumstances, not only for Rangers players, but for footballers worldwide. Those sporting the stunning new Castore training wear for the very first time, however, have very quickly adapted to this new way of working.

As the pictures, taken by Official Club Photographer Kirk O’Rourke from a safe distance show, the players have used the extended break to their advantage, as they reported back in superb condition, ready for seven weeks of hard work to ensure they are absolutely prepared for the Scottish Premiership season beginning on the weekend of August 1.
