RYAN JACK is targeting yet another season of improvement at Rangers after superb individual back-to-back campaigns for the midfielder.
After an injury-hit first year, Jack has become one of Steven Gerrard’s most trusted players and has impressed not only domestically, but in Europe and for the Scotland national team too.
Speaking this week to RangersTV, Jack said: “For myself, I have always said, I always go into every season looking to improve in every way and looking to get better on and off the pitch.
“This year will be no different. I’ll work hard in pre-season as you have to and all the boys usually do and try to aim for better than what I did last.
“Playing for this club, it is a great club to be at and it is a great club to be at. The fans have been excellent too, and you want to give it your all when you have this opportunity as I know how lucky I am and you don’t always get the opportunity to play at big clubs like this and I am just trying to make the most of it and hopefully next year it will be a big season for us.”
Jack pointed to the work of first-team coach Michael Beale in his development as a Ranger – and reckons his work, and also playing regularly in Europe, has made him an established figure in the Scotland squad.
He continued: “I think the coaching we get here – Michael Beale does a lot of the coaching here and he has been excellent, especially for myself.
“He is always giving me little tips and pointers and the coaching and stuff he does is second to none and the training has been excellent.
“With that, and with the experience of the European runs we have had that will help me going into the international setup.
“It has been massive for myself as you come away from the domestic league and you are testing yourself against top opposition in the Europa League and it has been great.
“I am sure all the players would say they have benefited from those European runs and hopefully next year we will have another good run and we will have a successful season together.
“I have been fortunate to get a taste of the international team in the last couple of games and going forward, if my form is good enough, then I’m sure I will be a part of that.”
