STRIKER Joe Garner was overjoyed with the raucous reception he got from the Rangers supporters after going off as a late substitute.
Being replaced in the 88th minute by Joe Dodoo, Ibrox to a man stood and roared Garner from the pitch for his contribution in today’s superb 2-0 defeat of Hearts.
It’s something Garner was very grateful of, and he told RangersTV.tv: “That was brilliant. The fans are top-drawer every week, and it was a 50,000 sell-out today. Hopefully, they all go home happy and have a good weekend.
“The club is going forward to a good place. We are playing some good football, we mix it up a little bit and have some really good players.
“We have some really good young players too – Barrie for example was brilliant today. I did alright too – I put myself about, and I try to help the lads out as best I can. We try to play some good football, and we played well today and got the three points.”
Garner is really loving his time in Glasgow at the minute, but for him, the focus is now on Friday night’s trip to Hamilton Accies and the opportunity for Gers to make it three wins on the bounce in the Premiership.
He added: “It’s a great club with great facilities. There is a massive fanbase and when you are winning most weeks it’s a great place to work.
“The lads are buzzing after the result today. It’s a big three points for us and we look forward to Friday now.
“That’s what we have to do now. We have to take the performances we have had at home away from home. I’m sure that’s something the gaffer will sit and go through with the lads this week, and we look forward to it.”
